Self-Hosted Blogs

You have many different options when it comes to setting up a blog for free.  I always recommend WordPress because of its diversity and capabilities.  For most people who just want to give blogging a try, setting up a free blog through WordPress.com is easy and the right fit.  In the last couple of weeks I’ve had the opportunity to help convert a couple of free blogs to self-hosted blogs and we wanted to give them a little love!

Everyone you talk to will probably give you different advice on where to go for hosting when you venture into the realm of a self-hosted site.  I recommend HostGator.  Of all the hosting companies I have worked with Hostgator is the only one I’ve never had any trouble with.  If you’re in the market for website hosting, click on the link below to find out more:

The first blog that was moved was Life is a Run.  Beth, one of the ladies behind the blog (& Kate’s sister) just happens to have fun handwriting that they wanted to incorporate into the header awhile back.  When we moved the blog, keeping that header in tact was important and also served as the basis for the website’s color palate:

Being Veelashae is the next blog we helped transition from a free WordPress blog to a self-hosted blog.  Veelashae wanted a clean, crisp design that showcases the content she provides.  In her words, Being VeeLashae is about celebrating life, simply refined. This is a blog you won’t want to miss.
