Texas Strong | Harvey Fundraiser

As a native Texan, I have been heartbroken over the devastation that has ravished the southern part of my state and now seems to be moving east to Louisiana.  Thankfully my family and friends are safe (some are dryer than others), but this isn’t the case with hundreds of thousands of other Texas residents.  I’ve been blown away watching the coverage and seeing neighbor after neighbor help each other out and have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support coming from all over the country!  We are all Texas Strong!

While watching the coverage on the news I started doodling an image to post on social media and thought, why not use that design as a fundraiser.  I’d been trying to think of a way that the KateOGroup could help through this time of tragedy and I thought why not create something you get as a thanks for making a donation.

I’ve listed this print as a digital download so that the only cost that will come out of the $5 will be the Paypal fees.  Purchase your print here.

If you purchase this print please be sure to share an image of how you are displaying it on social media and link to KateOGroup (Facebook or Instagram) so that others can also purchase this print and help KateOGroup raise as much money as possible!  Please continue to lift the residents of South Texas and Louisiana up in your prayers!

My cousin works as a School Director with YES Prep Public Schools in the Houston area and they have set up a fund that will distribute 100% of the donations they receive to families they serve that are in the most need of assistance.  YES Prep has 9 campuses throughout Houston and have many families and staff members in need.  If you’d like to give directly to YES Prep, go to: https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=fa192b

Stay Texas Strong!

Jennifer Foster Marketing | Branding + Website Design

This monogram logo design project for Jennifer Foster started with a quick exchange of ideas over email. I started the project with this moodboard for inspiration.

We often collaborate with Jennifer on various projects. From the design of marketing materials to web design for clients.

Monogram Logo Design

Working with only two initials in a monogram makes it easy to creatively combine the letters. Most of Jennifer Foster Marketing’s clients are corporate. Because of this, she needs her logo to have a clean crips look rather than a whimsical look.

For this logo design project having various mark options is important so that Jennifer always has a version of her logo to use in any situation. For example, social media, letter head, watermarks, etc.

The color scheme for this brand incorporates greens and greys portraying stability and balance. As a result, to me this means authority and expertise. If you are stable and balanced then you can withstand the test of time.

After a few rounds of revisions Jennifer ultimately made her selection for her logo design. Below are the final designs presented to Jennifer before the final selection was made.

Here is a look at the final logo design for Jennifer Foster Marketing:

In addition to a logo, Jennifer needs a business card. Just like the logo the design is clean and crisp.

Web Design for Jennifer Foster Marketing

Creating a simple wordpress web design began after the logo selection was made. This site introduces Jennifer Foster Marketing and it’s services. Additionally it allows Jennifer to easily blog.

How Pinterest Can Be Pinteresting

Confession, I lost my love of Pinterest as I was building my business.  I use to spend hours perusing Pinterest looking for DIY ideas for around the house and recipes to try but then I got busy with KateOGroup and stopped spending time exploring. I had a hard time figuring out how to best utilize it for my business.  As a branding and website design studio I was really missing out on a gold mine of inspiration.

That was until I spent some time reorganizing my Pinterest boards.  All of a sudden my old obsession with Pinterest was renewed.  I created color boards.  Now I can more quickly pull together Moodboards and Inspiration for branding projects.

I was just going to show you a couple of boards but I just can’t get enough of these color boards, so here are a few more!

And one last board because I just couldn’t resist and it’s so pinteresting, Metallics!

I have even more color boards on my account but you’ll have to go check them out yourself! And be sure to follow along as I continue to build up these boards: KateOGroupLLC.

Now that I have these boards I find Pinterest absolutely pinteresting and have to make myself stop adding to all of these boards. I definitely cannot take credit for this organization strategy because I’m not the first one to do this. How do you utilize Pinterest for your business?

Agave Custom Homes Website Redesign

This custom home builder website redesign for Agave Custom Homes  was such a fun project.  I am so excited to share the brand new look with you.

I love any excuse to look at the photos of Agave’s Farmhouse Homes.  Imagine my excitement when I asked Tyler when we could update his website and he said to go for it!

For the last 3 years I have been updating the Agave site with new home photos and details.  But I was constantly frustrated about how small the images of each beautifully crafted homes appeared throughout the site.

The new custom home builder website design is a clean, uncluttered canvas.  Truly allowing the home photos to be showcased throughout the website. Through the website you can virtually walk through each home.  Tyler O’Brien, the builder, pays such attention to every detail of the homes he builds.
